Della's Labor of Birth Pt 1 | Alicia Lynn Photography

As many of you may know I was awaiting a woman to give birth any day, and behold it did happen. I was so excited when she told me it was time, I was in the middle of the store and rushed to my vehicle to get my gear with my two month old son as if it was going to happen literally any moment. When I arrived, mind you I was able to bring my son too, there was a house full of family and friends, Della has already 7 children before this birth so it was very unique having so many children witnessing a live birth. As I was photographing I had to strap my own son to me in a wrap and he slept through me doing my usual routine of photographing. I have to say, since I am only a few months shy of having had an unmedicated birth recently myself I could see her feelings and feel her emotions so well that I got emotional myself. It was such a beautiful glorious scene to be witnessing in the comfort of her own home surrounded by those she loves most. After about 7 or 8 hours of contractions, her uterus stopped contracted and she needed to be transported to the hospital to have her son there. Unfortunately my camera skills did not carry as far with them but I will be photographing this dear baby boy this week! I look forward to meeting him, I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I did taking these images.
